Sept. 2 The North American Festival of Wales' opening ceremony will take place at 4pm on Wednesday Sept 2 in Springfield, MA - details on NAFOW.org. 500 people expected. Seminars of Welsh history, language, culture, literature, Welsh choir, music and dance: Sept 2-6, 2026


Sept. 3 First full day of the Welsh Festival: Seminars on Welsh history music culture walking tour of Springfield and it's Welsh colonial history plus the 5 Springfield museums all in one quadrant full day tour to Connecticut's colonial history half day tour to Norman Rockwell museum. Evening Welsh music. NAFOW.org


Sept. 4 Second full day of the Welsh Festival with about 500 attendees. Seminars from 9-4pm covering Welsh music, culture, history and language. Meet -ups for people with Welsh roots; National Library of Wales seminars; Marketplace with lots of information about traveling to Wales, a Welsh themed Auction and Craft competition; Welsh goodies and Tea room with Welsh Cakes. Sept. 5 Third full day of the Welsh Festival with about 500 attendees. Seminars from 9-4pm covering Welsh music, culture, history and language. Meet -ups for people with Welsh roots; National Library of Wales seminars; Marketplace with lots of information about traveling to Wales, a Welsh themed Auction and Craft competition; Welsh goodies and Tea room with Welsh Cakes. Concert in the evening, featuring well-known Welsh singers and a youth Welsh choir from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Tickets and info: NAFOW.org


Sept. 6 Final full day of the Welsh Festival. At  2:00PM and 4:30PM in the Trinity United Methodist Church, in Springfield: the Gymanfu Ganu, a Welsh hymn sing, with conductor, in 4 part harmony (not a church service). Te Bach (tea and Welsh cakes) served at intermission. Bus available from Springfield Sheraton hotel. Ticket and info at NAFOW.org. Evening events include a fun-filled Noson Lawen ("Happy Evening") with performers and audience participation: music, singing, comedy, poetry open mic.
