Adams will reveal how Frank Lloyd Wright’s unbreakable self-belief and startling creative defiance originated in the liberal religion and ideology of his Welsh family. It will explain how their attitudes and philosophy were woven into his personality during his childhood, and how they drove him to become the greatest architect of modern times.

Jonathan Adams graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture in 1982 and completed his training at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. He has been a chartered architect for 35 years.

Returning to Wales in 1998, he designed the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, one of the few contemporary buildings in the UK to become an international icon.

His architectural and urban design work has been published in most UK architectural journals and exhibited widely. In 2017 he co-wrote and presented a TV documentary on the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, which has been broadcast several 􏰀times on BBC TV. He is a published author on architectural subjects including a history of the Welsh roots of Frank Lloyd Wright published in 2022 by the University of Wales Press.

He is a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales and has also served as President of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales. He is a winner of the Royal National Eisteddfod Gold Medal for Architecture, the RIBA Award, and of numerous other honours for his architectural work.
