Get ready for a joyful FAMILY celebration of St. David’s Day and WSWNE’s 25th Anniversary on Saturday, March 7, 2026, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM ET at the lovely Nutmeg Restaurant in East Windsor, CT!
We’re marking this special milestone with fun, food, music, and Welsh spirit for all ages.
Welsh Cake Contest
Love to bake? Bring a plate of six of your very best Welsh Cakes (please put your name on the underside of the plate). Hand your plate to Beth Roberts Brown at the check-in table, and she’ll make sure it reaches the judges. A prize awaits!
11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
We’ll gather as usual with a table of hors d’oeuvres and Welsh music setting the mood. Cash bar available. On screen, enjoy a slideshow celebrating past years of WSWNE—memorable events, familiar faces, and beautiful images from Wales. While we may be a younger Welsh society than some, we’re incredibly active, welcoming new members almost every month, and always eager to celebrate anything Welsh!
Lunch & Annual Meeting
After a warm welcome (croeso!), we’ll enjoy a wonderful lunch, followed by a brief annual meeting to vote in the Board. There’s always room for new Board members—if you’re interested, please reach out using our contact form link here.
Then the party continues with:
- Folk music performance by WILD NOTES
- Leek-eating contest (yes, with a prize!)
- Welsh clog-dancing demonstration
- Children’s crafts and Welsh coloring pages. And every child under 18 will receive a ticket for a chance to win a HUGE British chocolate bar!
