Welsh Voices is a series of monthly free virtual seminars presented on Zoom by experts on Welsh and Welsh North American culture and history.

Presented by Dr. Guto Rhys in Wales, an expert on this vanishing specialized Welsh poetry which is found on headstones in Wales (and even in the USA).

Welsh-born Dr. Guto Rhys about WELSH ENGLYNION, a traditional Welsh short poem form that relies on strict syllable counting, precise end-rhymes, and cynghanedd—a complex internal harmony of consonant alliteration and accent. It is one of the oldest attested stanzaic metrics in Welsh literature, dating back to the 9th century, and can be found both in Wales and here in the US.
