Genealogy Presentation and Christmas Tea

Five WSWNE members celebrated our monthly genealogy workshops with a Christmas Tea in December 2018 following a great presentation by Dave Robison, WMGS, on “Effective On-Line Search Strategies.” Tea was served with bara brith, scones, mince pies and jam tarts, all home- made!

WSWNE held its first annual Noson Lawen - in Welsh tradition, an informal evening of our members, friends, and families sharing poems, songs, and stories with one another. This one was scheduled to celebrate the birth date of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.

The Welsh Society of Western New England celebrated St. David’s Day 2016. Everyone enjoyed Welsh music, culture, the Welsh language and very importantly each other’s company. Member Leslie Spencer gave a wonderful presentation of “Wales - Land of Song: A look at the choral tradition from yesteryear to today.”

WSWNE celebrates St. David's Day!

St. David’s Day 2015 was celebrated with gusto in East Windsor, Connecticut. The Nutmeg Restaurant was the lovely setting for the Welsh gathering, lunch, annual business meeting, and excellent talk and slide presentation on the history of Plaid Cymru by board member Shirley Gilmartin.
